Classroom Achievement
This award may be given to any child who has shown exceptional and consistent achievement within their classroom work: for best practise curriculum work, achieving goals, or “being the best they can be.”

Contribution
Awarded to any child who continually demonstrates the “Waioneke Way’ while representing Waioneke in a sporting, cultural event or community event. To achieve this award the student needs to stand out from their peers - in much the same spirit that a ‘Player of the Day’ award is given following a sporting event.

Responsibility
Nominations for this award come from a staff member who observes a child from another class effectively and consistently carrying out a responsibility. For example; library, communications, staffroom, buses, etc

Citizenship
This award is for any child who continually displays an exceptional attitude; shows respect and manners, caring for others, caring for the environment, etc.

Student elected
Children are nominated for this award by the School Student Leaders to recognise their consistently positive contribution to our school: for citizenship, leadership or student achievement.

Merit certificates may be carried over the years to obtain an Honours Award. Students who do attain this award may then start afresh and strive for the next Honours level.

Encourage high achievement, celebrate success and reward outstanding school and community spirit
