TADPOLES AND FROGS

We have been learning about the life cycle of a frog.  Mr May gave us some little tadpoles.  We put them into a tank with water and some waterweed.  We looked after them and fed them fish food.  We watched them grow legs.  The back legs grew first.  Then the front legs grew.  When they were bigger their tails got smaller and they became frogs.  We had to put some big rocks into the tank so they could get out of the water.  The frogs ate flies and insects that we caught.

SWIMMING SPORTS

Each summer Waioneke School holds their own Swimming Sports. Room 4 children participated in fun events such as blowing ping-pong balls across the school and using flutter boards. The children received daily instruction in water confidence and swimming skills/ techniques according to their individual abilities.
